Security at the T&T Energy Conference

On December 30, 2024, the Government of Trinidad & Tobago implemented a state of emergency to address a surge in gang-related violence. This measure grants law enforcement enhanced powers to safeguard public safety. The Energy Chamber assesses that the current crime situation and the new measures do not represent any significant additional threat to business or tourist travel.

The Energy Chamber remains committed to ensuring that the Trinidad and Tobago Energy Conference, scheduled for February 10–12, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain, proceeds safely. The state of emergency does not restrict public gatherings or business operations, allowing the conference to continue in a secure and organized manner.

The safety of our participants has always been a top priority at our events. We will maintain a strong security presence at the venue, as we have done in the past, and will provide security escorts for delegates using the City Park parking garage. Our close coordination with local authorities underscores our dedication to ensuring a safe environment for all attendees.

We encourage our international visitors to review the latest travel advisories for Trinidad and Tobago from relevant authorities such as the US Department of State and the UK Foreign Office. These resources offer valuable context and updates for travelers.

We invite you to proceed with your plans to attend the conference, as it remains a pivotal platform for shaping the future of the energy sector. Your participation is invaluable, and we are dedicated to delivering a safe, productive, and enriching experience for all attendees.
